How to upload photos to an Aura frame and invite family

Upload photos from a computer

1. Open Aura’s official Web Uploader and sign in with your Aura account.
2. Choose the frame you own or have been invited to contribute to. If it is missing, accept the invitation with the intended account first.
3. Select the pictures on your computer and add them to that frame.
4. Check the frame after it has received the upload over Wi-Fi.

The browser uploader accepts JPEG, PNG and TIFF images up to 9.5 MB each. It cannot upload videos, automatically sync albums, delete photos or change frame settings. Use the app for those tasks. See Aura’s computer upload instructions. Sign in on Aura’s website; this guide does not collect account details.

Upload from an iPhone or Android phone

1. Open the Aura Frames app, open the frame list and select the correct frame.
2. Tap Add Photos and choose your photo source or album.
3. Select the pictures, confirm the destination frame or frames, then tap the Add Photos confirmation.
4. Keep the phone online while the upload finishes.

If pictures are absent from the picker, review the app’s photo-library permissions. On iOS, allow access to the specific photos you want to send, or to all photos if you prefer. An entry in the app can appear before the file reaches the frame. Large batches can take time; follow Aura’s app upload guide.

Invite family to contribute remotely

Once the frame is set up and online, contributors can send pictures from another location. In the app, choose the frame, open Settings and Add Members (or the members icon), and send an invitation by email or phone number. Each contributor can accept the link and use their own free Aura account in the app or browser.

Review who has access and remove members who no longer need it. Invitees’ contact details are initially visible to other frame members. See Aura’s invitation and member-management instructions.

Can you send videos to an Aura Carver?

Yes: upload videos through the Aura app, using the same destination-frame selection as photos. Clips are limited to 30 seconds; longer videos are initially trimmed, and you can adjust the chosen interval afterward. Browser, email and text uploads are for still photos.

Aura says all frame models support video display, but sound on the frame requires a model with a speaker. Slideshow playback starts silently; a speaker-equipped frame can replay with sound from the touch bar, and the app also supports playback. Check your particular Carver or Mason hardware rather than assuming it has a speaker. See Aura’s video and audio guide.

Email and text: different ways to send still photos

For email, find the frame’s unique address in the app or web portal. A registered contributor can send one JPG, PNG or TIFF attachment from the email address associated with their Aura account. Email subjects and message text do not appear on the display. Use the app for batches and videos. See Aura’s email requirements.

Aura’s current text-sharing guide supports +1 country-code mobile numbers, including the US and Canada. Invite the number from the app or add it to your account, then send a chosen photo in the Aura message thread. Carrier and international charges may apply. This does not automatically forward pictures sent to your phone. Video and Live Photo uploads are unsupported by text. Destination selection depends on the messaging method, so check the receiving frame before sending. See current text-sharing availability and instructions.

What to check when uploads do not arrive

1. Confirm the destination frame and account. Accept any pending invitation.
2. Check power and Wi-Fi at the frame’s location; remote sharing still needs an online frame.
3. Try one small JPEG. For browser uploads, check the 9.5 MB limit; for videos, use the app.
4. Keep the app open, the phone on Wi-Fi and connected to power during a large video upload.
5. Review photo permissions and any app error. Allow time for queued uploads before sending duplicates.
6. If it still fails, contact Aura with your model and the error shown.

Do contributors need a subscription?

Aura’s core sharing and cloud storage have no required subscription. The earlier claims of an Aura Premium fee and a 100-photo free limit were incorrect. If you want to control a still photo’s crop first, use the Aura Carver photo preset; it is not a video editor or an Aura upload service.
